I tend to think of this life as our opportunity to be an angel. (Regardless of if you know what you believe in religiously, just set that aside for a moment.) An angel has to get past all of its junk & stuff. Maybe you think angels are so pure they never had to experience any junk, or stuff, but I think— it’s only by experiencing and getting past that stuff do you understand what that stuff really is.
Otherwise, you don’t even have knowledge of it.
How can you help others if you don’t know or understand the pain, the rawness, the urgency, the fear, despair, violence, greed, anger, and so much more?
How can you help someone through any of this without going through it yourself?
And after all of that stuff, how do you go on untouched? Undamaged?
How do you go through all of those things and allow them to make you lighter,
freer, more loving, more fearless with every encounter?
We can’t ignore the stuff.
We have to let the stuff empower us. .

#EmpowerThroughAsana Day 1— be the warrior of your own life. This pose has always inspired me to lead a stronger life, a more purposeful life— and it also has brought up all the feelings I talked about above. 🦋
