there were times in my life when I couldn’t see myself as anything other than a weak little girl.
a weak little thing that couldn’t seem to avoid getting thrown around, trampled on, kicked, hit, and just down right abused.
there were days I would hide in a little ball in the closet, trying to hide the very energy that was my own existence,
then this behavior followed me into early adolescence— and trying to hide from my blood family suddenly had turned into trying to hide from myself, and the family I chose for myself. The lovers I chose.
Always feeling scared and sorry for myself, at a certain point I had to stop allowing myself to be such a victim.
Stop allowing myself to feel like such a victim.
To not allow the damage and traumas to hold me back, but raise me up.
I had to choose to empower myself because I could never rely on another for this.
I had to choose to grow into my physical strength in order to build the emotional. .
